Best Slim and Lightweight Laptops For Everyone!
Ultraportable laptops and hybrids are the go-to devices for people who want a powerful, stylish, and lightweight computer that can last an entire day on a single charge. These machines are compact yet offer excellent performance for everyday tasks, and many come with touchscreens that allow users to interact with them using either a stylus or their fingers.
However, with so many models available from different manufacturers, choosing the right one can be daunting, especially given the vast price range that these devices come in. To make your decision-making process easier, we have rigorously tested and ranked the top five ultraportables based on their design, performance, equipment, ease of use, and battery life. So, whether you’re looking for a budget-friendly option or willing to splurge, our ranking has got you covered.
As expected, the top five ultraportables on our list are high-end machines, with prices ranging from around $1200 to over $2400. However, the rankings have been shaken up by the arrival of new models, such as the Apple MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with ARM processors, and the latest version of the Dell XPS 13, all equipped with the latest 11th generation Intel Core processors.
Despite the ongoing crisis, brands have been able to replenish their stocks, resulting in the gradual renewal of the best lightweight laptops for business. The Honor MagicBook, which was previously among the top 10 ultraportables, has now dropped to twelfth place, but it remains a reliable and affordable option for those looking for a well-made 14-inch laptop. It’s worth noting that the Honor MagicBook is essentially a carbon copy of the Huawei Matebook D 14 2020.
Huawei also features in our current ranking, with the expensive MateBook Pro X in eleventh place and the more affordable MateBook 13 in nineteenth place.

For those who prioritize battery life above all else, we offer a ranking solely focused on this criterion. However, even this ranking has been shaken up by the arrival of the new MacBooks, causing the HP Elite Dragonfly – a previous leader in the standings – to slip.
In addition, our ultraportable buying guide provides all the information you need to choose the model that best suits your needs.

Dell XPS 13
The Dell XPS 13 is back in winter 2020 with a new version equipped with the latest 11th generation Intel Core processors, and it’s as impressive as ever. The XPS 13 is now tied with the latest MacBook Pro, and even outperforms the previous version of the XPS 13. However, it can’t quite beat the MacBook Air with the ARM M1 chip. The XPS 13’s endurance is once again noteworthy, thanks to the performance of the Intel chips. Its Full HD + screen maintains a good level of quality, although there are some minor colorimetry issues.

Apple MacBook Air M1
After a long reign, the Dell XPS 13 has finally been dethroned from its title as the best ultraportable, slim and lightweight laptop. The MacBook Air M1 is reminiscent of the original MacBook Air which once dominated the market and now poses a new challenge for PC competitors.
It remains to be seen if any other manufacturer can rise to the occasion and compete with Apple’s latest offering.
