Approx 500 million tweets are published every day on Twitter— and most of the tweets are from Bots. In fact, if you have ever retweeted a post on Twitter, then the chances are high that the tweet you have retweeted was created by a bot instead of a human user.
So it is really important to understand that what actually Twitter bot is. And you might even need to know that how to make one. Since a Twitter bot can automate part or all of your Twitter activity such as auto Retweet and auto-reply, and this will accelerate your social media strategy while saving you time.

What is a Twitter bot?
Based on what we described above, there is a lot of confusion and we need to do a better job of explaining ourselves. In short, a bot is an automated account, no more, no less.
A few years ago, automated accounts were a problem for us. We focus on it, make the necessary investments, and have seen significant results fighting them across the entire Twitter platform.
That does not mean that our work is done. That is why we focus our attention on where we have the most critical work. We call it platform manipulation.
So, Creating a Twitter bot is really easy. And you don’t need to code anything and even you don’t need to know how to code. You just need to know the basics of an application programming interface that is (API), like that you’ll need an API key & some tokens to authenticate the request.

How to Make a Twitter Bot?
- Create & Apply for a Twitter developer account.
- Create a New Twitter application.
- Edit Twitter app permissions & Get your API Keys.
- Now Generate your access token & secret access.
- Program your Twitter bot & You are Ready to Go.
1. Create & Apply for a Twitter Developer Account.
First, you have to, go to developer.twitter.com & log in with an already existing account or you can also sign up for a new one. Once you are logged in, you will see an empty dashboard (Shown In the Image Below). Now at the top right corner, there is a Create an app button. Click on that.
You will have to apply for a developer account first to create an app. And the application process for a developer account is really easy. You just need to provide some basic info & explain intend to use the Twitter API.
2. Create a New Twitter application.
Now after confirming your email address, you can create your first application. And at this stage, all you need to do is name your app and then click on Get Keys.
After that, you will see the API key, API secret key, and a Bearer token on your screen. And you have to store these in a safe place and you will need these keys later to finalize your app.
3. Edit the Twitter app permissions & Get your API Keys.
Once your Twitter application has been created, you have to click on the gear icon which is labeled as “App Settings” if you hover over it.
After clicking on the settings icon you will see edit the App Permissions pannel and then select Read + Write + Direct Messages option and Click on the Save button.
4. Now Generate your access token and secret access.
After clicking on the save button, you will be redirected to the project dashboard. You can switch from the Settings tab to the Keys and Tokens tab. Click on Generate for Access token & secret Key, after that you’ll need in the next step.
5. Program your Twitter bot & You Are Ready to Go.
You are now ready to program your bot! To get started, open the Twitter Bots app & sign in with your Google account, associated with your Twitter account. Now fill in the details in the blank fields with the appropriate keys and tokens you got in (Step 2). Now specify the search criteria. Your application will find all the latest tweets that match this search phrase. (Eg: #hashtag for your app)
Finally, you can choose the action you want your bot to take from the drop-down list. Some of the possible actions include sending a private message or public reply, retweeting the tweet, following the account that tweeted it, retweet bot, auto retweet bot, rt bot, Twitter auto retweet bot, Twitter auto-reply bot, and more. When you choose one of these options it will require label text, which you can fill out in the “text” field.
After you click Save, your Twitter bot is ready to do tasks such as retweet, reply, follow, & much more and will auto-run in the background. Easy, right?
