All You Need To Know About New iPad Pro (2022) In Detail:
This year, for its new iPad, Apple did not focus on the design but on the internal components. Indeed, the iPad Pro 4th and 6th gen. welcome the M2 chip without much surprise. Let’s see the changes in detail.
11-inch iPad Pro 2022 Review
Physically, it is very similar to its predecessor, only its weight has decreased, it has fallen to 468 g against 470 g. In real use, you should not feel this difference, but technically we can salute Apple’s prowess to have managed to slim it down while guaranteeing the same measurements.
The most important changes concern the hardware, which makes this year’s iPad Pro a more powerful tablet than the 2021 model.
Indeed, the M2 chip has a larger and 15% faster 8-core processor than the M1, as well as a 10-core GPU whose performance has increased by 35%, compared to 8 cores for the M1 chip. There’s also a more powerful 16-core neural engine capable of processing 15.8 trillion operations per second for a 40 percent increase in performance, which helps speed up the performance of AI-based functions like object selection in image editing applications. Added to that is up to 16GB of unified memory (RAM), which Apple says makes multitasking and working with large assets a faster, more responsive experience.

The M2’s power is primarily aimed at creatives, suited for those whose workflows require significant processing power, whether it’s a photographer editing photo libraries en masse or graphic designers creating 3D models on the tablet. The iPad Pro also features a new media engine and ISP, which allows it to capture ProRes video for the first time, and transcode ProRes footage three times faster, which is ideal for on-the-fly editing.
This is coupled with support for Wi-Fi 6e, which offers download speeds of up to 2.4 Gbps, twice as fast as the previous iPad Pro line. The 5G-equipped cellular models are also compatible with more 5G networks around the world, providing access to fast connectivity anywhere 5G is available.
Finally, we note the arrival of the Flyover technology with the Apple Pencil, “a never-before-seen experience” according to the firm, coupled with ultra-fast wireless connectivity.

“The Apple Pencil is now detected up to 12mm above the screen, allowing users to see exactly where the tip will land. Users also get greater precision for drawing and illustration and an even smoother overall experience with the Apple Pencil.”
Everything else is unchanged compared to the 2021 edition, including the available colors (Sidereal Gray and Silver), photo sensors (which upgrade to Smart HDR 4 just the same), and battery.
12.9-inch iPad Pro 2022 Review
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro features exactly the same changes as the smaller (11-inch) model: the M2 chip, the 10-core GPU, 100 GB/s of memory bandwidth, ProRes and ProRes Raw formats, and Apple Pencil Overview.
On the other hand, there is no refinement, it has a weight and measures equivalent to its predecessor, in addition to its screen backlit by mini-LED, which is exclusive to him.

Also, for both Pro tablets, the other improvements come in the form of iPadOS 16, whose launch was originally scheduled for September but was postponed to October 24. The main feature the iPad Pro will be able to take advantage of is Stage Manager, a new multitasking system that offers a more Mac-like experience with apps opening in moving windows. It will also support a full external display to help users arrange their workspace and make the most of the software and hardware offered by these high-end tablets.
